The Velykodymer village council will work on creating a strategy for the development of the Velykodymer community’s education system and conditions for children’s education in distance/mixed formats together with the NGO «Rе:Osvita» in accordance with the Memorandum signed by the parties in October 2023.
The cooperation will be supported by The International Renaissance Foundation.
At the first phase of the project, a large-scale survey of educators, parents of schoolchildren, and school students of the community will be done. The creation of a community education development strategy is planned on the basis of the collected information.
“In fact, we are supposed to propose how a single educational space of the community will be formed in the future, what the educational network is supposed to look like, and provide advocacy for these changes. We also want to share the experience of the Velykodymer community with other de-occupied territories affected by the war,” Liliia Hrynevych, Head of the board of the NGO «Rе:Osvita», said.
In addition to expert assistance, the project also provides financial assistance.
“Particularly, thanks to the support of The International Renaissance Foundation, we will help the community equip spaces for students to learn in combined and remote formats. The institutions will be selected to focus on those that require additional support to ensure access to education,” Оlena Zaplotynska, Executive director of the NGO «Rе:Osvita», pointed out.
Since the day of de-occupation, the Velykodymer community has been doing everything possible to attract maximum resources for its recovery.
“Thanks to cooperation, we were able to attract significant assistance to restore the community’s educational system. However, there is still much work ahead.I am confident that thanks to this project, we will be able to properly plan our development and use maximum opportunities to create comfortable conditions for the life and development of our residents,” Oleksandr Kutsenko, Deputy head of the Velykodymyr village council, added.
